The inaugural Import Export Show was a resounding success!

We are confident that the show met its objective of assisting SMEs to make contact with a wide range of service providers and government organisations. There was a good balance in categories represented, which included government departments; banks; financial and insurance services; business services; consultants and advisers; export promotion agenices; technology; express freight; air, sea and road transportation; freight forwarders and customs brokers.
This created the one-stop shop environment intended. The atmosphere on the show floor was buzzing and the exhibitors were overwhelmingly positive about The Import Export Show and its viability as a major event. Comments received from both the exhibitors and visitors support its value as an event for conducting quantifiable business:
Making contact with the various representatives of related fields was valuable. Since the show I have engaged the freight forwarder I met and he is currently organising my first shipment. I also gained useful information from the workshop. Thank you.
I certainly was able to meet some potential clients and referral sources that I would never otherwise have had access to.

Visitors travelled from regional NSW as well as the Greater Sydney area, with a number from other states. With approximately 10% more importers that exporters among the respondents, there was a fairly even balance. 50% said they engaged in both export and import. Well presented seminar with some valuable tips on business in general as well as the key topics of importing and exporting.
I was inspired by the seminars. Topics were really helpful and useful. The seminar on importing and exporting I attended was well pitched and provided a lot of info that I will be referencing. It was a great opportunity to hear about some of the challenges of doing business overseas.
