Ricardo Goncalves

Ricardo Goncalves is an energetic and entertaining MC. He presents SBS World News Australia and is a reporter for the network.

He joined SBS early 2010 after 8 years as a business and finance reporter and presenter (as Richard Goncalves) with Sky News Business where he anchored programs like Trading Day, Rates Reaction, IT and the popular Market Moves.

He’s also worked as a general news reporter for Nine News Melbourne, and produced for Seven News Sydney, starting work in metropolitan media producing for financial journalist David Koch. Ricardo started his career as a reporter for WIN News Wollongong in 1998 and has also appeared on Today Tonight, Seven News and worked for Ten News Sydney early in his working life.

His work has seen him interview virtually all of Australia’s top 200 CEOs, business leaders and global financial identities. Memorable interviewees include Richard Branson, John Stanhope, Wayne Swan, Helen Coonan, Malcolm Turnbull, Graeme Samuel and Alan Joyce just to name a few. He filmed, produced and edited all his material.

In 2011, Ricardo took on the role as an Ambassador for the University of Wollongong's In2Uni program, encouraging children from disadvantaged backgrounds to strive for further education.
